Job Description

StaffBright is seeking a diligent and motivated AP/AR Specialist to join the team with one of our clients in the Metro Detroit area. This is a contract position with intent to convert to direct hire, but no set timeline or guarantees . The ideal candidate will possess a skillset and background in both AP and AR, along with a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts.

What You Will Be Doing

• Support AP/AR function for the organization
• Collaborate with and support both the Controller and CFO
• Process invoices, payments, and verify financial data within the accounting system
• Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance across all parties
• Handle customer/vendor relations and basic inquiries around financial information via phone and email

What We Need From You

• To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
• Associate's Degree with desire to complete Bachelor's Degree, or completed Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in an AP/AR role (experience with both is highly preferred)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Demonstrated ability to own the AP/AR function in an independent and autonomous structure
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

• Experience working in/with a municipality
