MUSEUM CURATOR I / SAN LUIS OBISPO COAST DISTRICT / MUSEUM CASTLE CONSERVATION / HEARST CASTLE
The reporting location for this position is 750 Hearst Castle Road, San Simeon, CA 93452. This position will work under the general direction of the Museum Curator II.

Collections include fine arts, historic books, architectural elements and drawings, and archival records. The World-famous Hearst Castle (accredited by the AAM) is unique in the USA. About 22,500 works of art (mostly European, c.500 BCE - 1930) are in the museum, which is housed in an architectural masterpiece. We seek a well-organized professional to oversee curatorial records. Understanding the operation of an art museum is essential. Excellent command of written English is needed for professional correspondence. Employee replies to inquiries from experts, general public, and Castle Guides about the collection and thousands of other objects that had been in W.R. Hearst’s warehouses.
