Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Payroll Technician to support our client in Huntsville, AL. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution, maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees and site contacts. They will be running time and attendance reports through Workforce (Etime) and processing payroll using Lawson. They will enter and update payroll maintenance as it is received through Personnel Action Notices (PANs), ensuring all changes are reviewed and approved before processing. This role also includes preparing monthly leave accrual reconciliations, analyzing discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of leave balances. The technician will prepare and post journal entries related to leave accruals and maintain accurate records of all payroll activities. The successful candidate will be accountable for following the payroll log and manual, ensuring all assigned payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Skills and Requirements 1 year of payroll processing experience, including consistent responsibility for 150+ employees on a bi-weekly basis. Proficiency in excel using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and running queries; must be able to work with uploaded data and perform reconciliations. Demonstrated ability to reconcile leave accruals and prepare related journal entries. Familiarity with the complexities of processing payroll across multiple states. While tax filing is not required, awareness of multistate compliance challenges is essential. Direct experience using Lawson for payroll processing and maintenance entry.
