The position is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects according to the strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources, coordinating the efforts of team members, and ensuring that project deliverables met the organization’s quality standards. The position will also oversee project scope, schedule, cost, risks, and communications to ensure successful delivery. The Program Management Division serves as an interface between Public Safety Communications (PSC) and the public safety agencies it supports for communications services. The Program Management Division oversees service intake, project management, and the organizational processes that facilitate PSC’s service delivery. Under direction of the Telecommunications Systems Manager II, the Information Technology Specialist I (IT Spec I) performs a variety of project related work and client services as part of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services’ (Cal OES), Public Safety Communications’ Program Management Division. Additionally, the IT Spec I works as a Subject Matter Expert and is responsible for providing project management and client services to PSC and the public safety agencies it serves. The incumbent is a skilled technical consultant in providing project management oversight to critical, public safety communications technology projects. The IT Spec I independently plans, implements, and monitors complex public safety projects to support PSC’s service delivery.You will find additional information about the job in the .
In Office: This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.
