Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented HR File Clerk to join our team in El Segundo, California. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with transportation documentation, and supporting logistics operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic retail environment while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: - Maintain and organize compliance records, including country of origin and vendor-provided documentation. - Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to address delays and resolve compliance-related issues. - Ensure all import documentation, such as packing slips and customs forms, is accurate and complete. - Monitor incoming shipments and update records to reflect current shipment status. - Review vendor compliance to ensure adherence to shipping and documentation requirements. - Prepare records for audits and compile data for internal reporting needs. - Identify gaps in processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. - Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate documentation handling. Requirements - 1-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or import/export compliance. - Familiarity with U.S. Customs processes, including relevant filings and codes. - Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for documentation and reporting purposes. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - Attention to detail to catch and correct documentation errors. - Comfortable coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and vendors. - Experience in retail, import, or distribution environments is preferred but not required. - Ability to analyze processes and suggest improvements for better outcomes.
