Job Title: First Class Machinist – 2nd Shift

Location: North Billerica, MA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:15 PM – 10:15 PM

Compensation: $3,500 Sign-On Bonus + Union Pension Plan

Job Overview:

A well-established manufacturer in the North Billerica area is seeking an experienced First Class Machinist to support second-shift operations. This full-time, union-represented role offers a stable schedule, pension benefits, and a competitive sign-on bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools, including:
• Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL)
• Milling Machines
• Engine Lathes
• Tracer Lathes
• Drill Presses
• Interpret technical drawings and job layouts
• Select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling
• Machine various materials to close tolerances
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Perform independent job planning and problem-solving
• Maintain accurate production records and material usage
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience operating CNC and manual machines
• High school diploma or GED (trade school preferred)
• Proficient in shop mathematics and blueprint reading
• Current OSHA forklift certification
• Valid Massachusetts 1C and 3A hoisting licenses
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
