Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Certified Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees, including union and management staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems and procedures, as well as the ability to assist with accounting tasks when needed. Responsibilities: - Process weekly payroll for union employees and semi-monthly payroll for management staff, covering approximately 100-200 employees. - Manage payroll for multiple unions, ensuring compliance with specific union requirements. - Collaborate with the accounting team to perform reconciliations and generate payroll-related reports. - Post journal entries related to payroll transactions and assist with general ledger activities. - Maintain accurate records of garnishments and other deductions. - Ensure punctuality and reliability in meeting payroll deadlines. - Cross-train with accounts payable functions to provide backup support when necessary. - Utilize payroll software systems, such as Paychex, to streamline payroll processes. - Must have working knowledge and experience with DIR, LCP Tracker, and AON Requirements ADP or Paychex union payroll Certified payroll reporting to DIR, LCP Tracker, AON.
